Today, I was at the Subaru dealer having new plugs installed, when I noticed that all the new (2017) Subarus have an air intake setup that is exactly the same shape as the Takeda. Install was very easy, and there is a nice sound as the motor revs.

Probably one of my better investments

I bought the takeda with the same hopes as any other person who wants a cold air intake. That signature whistle. However, on my 2010 Subaru Legacy, it changed the exhaust note and made the the intake "whoosh" very noticeable. I'm 100% certain that if I put UEL's on my car, it'll for sure sound like an STI. the intake added a little more power, I wish it was a little better looking, but it's definitely gorgeous. My next vehicle will for sure have the takeda intake.

It was a good purchase, glad I decided on this brand. When I get on it she's got a nice rumble to it. The installation was a little difficult due to engine set up in my Subie took longer then 30 minutes. But overall it looks great & I like the sound it puts out

    awesome upgrade

I own a Subaru 2012 outback 2.5L. I installed the product to increase mileage along with performance. The intake looks real nice it was easy to install about 20 minutes. I cant say if the mileage has increased yet, but it definitely has made a huge difference on torque along with all around power. Great product looks nice and definitely as good if not better than K&N. No oiling of filter needed

Mates well with the factory cold air intake. Fit and finish is nice and comes well packaged. Easy to follow instructions with good pictures. Provide a nice pickup from 3000-4000rpms

Two problems during installation: the metal box fits very tightly in front of engine hose(will make removal for cleaning hard), the position of the attachment fitting for crankcase vent hose is off and clamps are needed to secure factory hose. Car seems to have more pick-up, will see if gas mileage improves. Surprised that half of the original air cleaner box remains in use.
